Dickinson uses several online tools to help you stay connected, organized, and informed during your first year. Learning what these platforms are and when to use them is an important part of the First Year Experience and will make your transition to college much smoother.
You don’t need to master everything at once. Most students learn these tools gradually, using them more often as the semester goes on. These platforms are designed to support you—not overwhelm you. Start by checking your Dickinson email and learning one or two tools at a time. Over time, these systems will help you stay organized, informed, and connected as you make Dickinson yours.
If you ever feel unsure about where to look or how to log in, help is always available—and asking questions is part of the First Year Experience.
Gateway: Your main portal
Gateway is Dickinson’s online portal. Think of it as your starting point for accessing many of the systems you’ll use as a student.
Through Gateway, you can:
- Log in securely to Dickinson systems
- Access forms, apps, and student information
- Connect to tools like email and Navigate
You’ll log in using your Dickinson username and password. If you have trouble, the Help Desk can assist at helpdesk@dickinson.edu.
Dickinson Email: Your official inbox
Your Dickinson email is the main way the college communicates with you. Important messages about classes, events, deadlines, and campus updates will be sent only to this email address.
It’s important to check your Dickinson email regularly—even if you prefer another email account for personal messages.
- You will receive instructions on how to access your account before or shortly after arrival
- This is where you’ll receive daily and weekly campus communications
If you have trouble accessing your email, contact helpdesk@dickinson.edu.
Navigate: Your academic guide
Navigate is a tool that helps guide you from Orientation through graduation. You’ll use it to stay on track academically and connect with people who support you.
Students commonly use Navigate to:
- See reminders and important todos
- Schedule meetings with advisors and campus offices
- Find support resources on campus
You can download the Navigate app from your device’s app store or use it on your computer. Log in using your Dickinson network username and password. If you have questions, email navigate@dickinson.edu.
Orientation & Before You Arrive websites: Your first week checklist
The Orientation website is where you’ll find everything you need to know about your first days on campus.
Here, you can:
- Review Orientation schedules and FAQs
- Register for Pre-Orientation: Explore More programs
- Find information about advising, placement tests, and next steps
This site is especially helpful before you arrive and during your first week on campus.
EngageD (desktop) / CORQ (app): What’s happening on campus
EngageD (on a computer) and CORQ (the mobile app) are where you’ll find information about student organizations, club meetings, and campus events.
You’ll use these platforms to:
- See what events are happening
- Learn about clubs and organizations
- Find ways to get involved on campus
Most students check EngageD or CORQ when they’re looking for something to do or want to explore campus involvement opportunities. Email campuslife@dickinson.edu with questions.
Class of 2030 Instagram & social media
Following the Class of 2030 Instagram is a fun way to stay connected with your classmates and the Dickinson community. You’ll see reminders, highlights, and updates throughout the year.
Dickinson also shares information across other official social media channels, which you can find at dickinson.edu/socialmedia.
