Attracting the Best and Brightest
Merit scholarships allow Dickinson to enroll dedicated and accomplished students whose talents enhance the reputation of the college and enrich our community.
The Presidential Scholarship
$45,000 per academic year
The Presidential Scholarship is worth $180,000 toward tuition for eight semesters of full-time study at the college (including off-campus study in a Dickinson program or partner program). It is Dickinson’s highest recognition for academic achievement and leadership. Recipients are top students in a challenging high-school curriculum. As Dickinsonians, Presidential Scholars will participate in special programming each semester with interim President John E. Jones '77, P'11. A separate application is required to be considered for the Presidential Scholarship.
The Provost, 1783, John Dickinson and Benjamin Rush scholarships reflect academic achievement, challenging oneself in and beyond the classroom and engaging in one’s community. The admissions committee will determine which scholarship will be awarded to a particular student on an individualized basis. No additional application materials are required to be considered for these merit scholarships —this underscores the importance of submitting the highest-quality and best-prepared application possible.
The Provost Scholarship
$30,000 per year
The Provost Scholarship is worth $120,000 toward tuition for eight semesters of full-time study at the college (including off-campus study in a Dickinson program or partner program).
The 1783 Scholarship
$25,000 per year
The 1783 Scholarship is worth $100,000 toward tuition for eight semesters of full-time study at the college (including off-campus study in a Dickinson program or partner program).
The John Dickinson Scholarship
$20,000 per year
The Jonh Dickinson Scholarship is worth $80,000 toward tuition for eight semesters of full-time study at the college (including off-campus study in a Dickinson program or partner program).
The Benjamin Rush Scholarship
$15,000 per year
The Benjamin Rush Scholarship is worth $60,000 toward tuition for eight semesters of full-time study at the college (including off-campus study in a Dickinson program or partner program).
Students may hold only one of the above scholarships. As a Division III athletic institution, Dickinson is not able to award scholarships based solely on athletic talent.
