Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas and Major General John R. Pippy discuss Lithuania’s contributions to the transatlantic relationship and its ties with Pennsylvania.
On Friday, September 25, at 10:00 am ET, the Transatlantic Security Initiative, part of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, and Dickinson College will host a discussion with Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas and Major General John R. Pippy, the adjutant general of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania and Lithuania share deep historical and personal ties. Pennsylvania is home to the oldest and second largest Lithuanian community in the United States, and the two have led over eight hundred security cooperation activities under the Pennsylvania National Guard’s thirty-three year-long partnership with Lithuania. This conversation will reflect on Lithuania’s contributions to the transatlantic relationship and the deep and varied connections between Lithuania and Pennsylvania.
