Is AI making us better thinkers—or making it easier to stop thinking?
As AI becomes increasingly embedded in our classrooms and our work with students, what happens to the skills we most want students to develop? This interactive session will explore what research tells us about AI’s impact on critical thinking, learning, and skill development, including the risks of outsourcing cognitive work. We’ll consider practical strategies for preventing declines in critical thinking and explore ways to help students think critically about AI, as well as with it. Join us to consider how we can design learning experiences that use AI thoughtfully without allowing it to replace the thinking that makes learning possible.
