RE-MINING & RE-MELTING is a place-based, sustainable-ceramics collaborative student-faculty research project supported by the Center for Sustainability Education and the Research & Development Committee at Dickinson College. During the summer of 2026, student researchers Kyrie Sanchez and Lauren Schill worked with Associate Professor of Art Rachel Eng to repurpose waste mineral materials in Cumberland County, Pa., into glazes that are used on locally sourced and processed clay.
