Unmuted: Trans & Gender Diverse Oral Histories of Central PA 12:00-1:00 Screening

March 31, 2026

To celebrate Trans Day of Visibility, the library is screening sections of oral histories from our local trans and gender diverse community.

Hear about coming out, self-acceptance, and finding community from local voices such as former Assistant Secretary for Health, Dr. Rachel Levine, poet and Dickinson alum Emily Newberry, and others. Trans Joy coloring pages will be available to complete as you watch, and light refreshments will be served.

The oral histories were originally recorded and preserved by the LGBT History Project of Central PA, whose collection lives in Archives & Special Collections. The LGBT History Project's mission is to collect and preserve the history of the LGBTQ+ community in Central Pennsylvania through oral histories and material artifacts. You can view oral histories online on the project's YouTube page, or visit Archives & Special Collections to learn more.

This event is part of Dickinson's Spring 2026 Pride Week celebration.
