Join Outdoor Education for a Ski/Snowboard Trip at Round Top Mountain!
This is not a learn to ski trip. No member of Campus Life or Round Top Mountain will be there to teach new skiers. Please read all the the information below.
Campus Life Van will leave campus promptly at 4:45. All participants must ride over and back in the Dickinson van, no personal vehicles please. Van will return to campus at about 9pm.
Passes and all rentals (skis, snowboards, boots, poles, helmets) will be paid for by the school. Participants can bring their own ski/snowboarding gear. All participants must wear a helmet while skiing/riding. Temperatures are expected to be cold, especially after the sun sets. Participants are expected to dress accordingly, making sure to wear plenty of layers, including gloves/mittens.
Participants will meet in the GearBox located in the HUB basement at 4:35pm before departing. Participants coming directly from class are encouraged to drop off their gear in the Gearbox during open hours earlier in the week, so they can still make the 4:45pm van. Open hours are Monday 2:30-4:30pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 1-3pm, and Friday 2:30-4:30pm.
Because of the high demand of ski trips, participants will only be able to join on one trip and are expected to pay a $10 dollar deposit that will be returned to them after the trip is over. Participants may join the waitlist for several trips, but once accepted into one trip they must remove themselves from the other waitlists.
To join a trip, RSVP yes on Engaged and go to the Campus Life Office located in the lower level of the HUB to sign waivers and pay deposit. You must sign a waiver and pay a deposit or you will be removed from the list and your spot will be given to someone else.
If you RSVP on Engaged and are placed on the waitlist, keep an eye on your email. If you get off the waitlist less than 48 hours before the trip, please reach out to Ryan Thies at berghthr@dickinson.edu to get a waiver signed and deposit paid ASAP.
If you sign up for the trip and have to cancel for whatever reason, you must first change your status on Engaged, then go down to Campus Life Office to get your security deposit back. Participants who no-show or cancel less than 24 hours before the trip will not get their security deposits back and will not be able to join another ski trip this semester. Even if you cancel within this 24-hour time period, please change your RSVP status on Engaged so that others can get off the waitlist.
