Dickinson has a long tradition of encouraging students to think creatively, ask big questions, and apply what they learn in meaningful ways.
February 2 – Idea Mixer 7:00 PM, Althouse Lounge (Althouse 008 overflow space) A relaxed, low-pressure gathering to share ideas, meet collaborators, and explore possibilities. Apply with just a tiny idea by Feb 6th to get started. Mentors will help you all along the way to help you get a plan started.
About the Competition:
This spring, the Burgess Institute is piloting a refreshed Innovation Competition designed to build on that tradition by helping you take the ideas you care about and move them forward with a prize pool totaling $5000.
This pilot is intentionally low-pressure, inclusive, and flexible. Innovation takes many forms across the liberal arts, and you do not need a polished business plan or even a finished idea to begin. Whether your spark comes from a research paper, a lab experiment, a creative project, a new gadget, or a campus challenge you want to solve, this program gives you space to explore.
