Almost everyone has used a browser extension at some point in their lives, but many do not know their vulnerable nature. This presentation will give a brief overview of how extensions are made then will dive into the possible attack vectors they provide. A specific real-world case of a malicious extension will be dissected starting from the process of infection to its’ capabilities. Students will walk away from this presentation with an understanding of the basics of extension creation, possible attacks people fall victim to, and mitigation techniques to help prevent yourself from becoming infected.
