April 28, 2025

Want to network with the chairman of a major local company? Drop in anytime from 2-4 PM to speak with Joe Wagman.

Meet Joe Wagman ’16, P’16 – Former CEO and current Chairman of Wagman, Nonprofit Leader & Lifelong Learner

Ever wonder what it’s like to graduate with your kid? Or to go from construction sites to ancient civilization archaeological dig sites? Joe Wagman is the former CEO and current Chairman of Wagman Construction, a fourth-generation, family-run company based in York, PA. For decades, he led the firm’s private-sector growth in senior living, healthcare, and urban redevelopment—projects that make a real impact in the community. But Joe’s story doesn’t stop at the boardroom. After starting his career as a lawyer and spending summers as a construction laborer, he returned to college later in life and earned a BA in Archaeology from Dickinson in 2016, graduating alongside his daughter Anna Wagman ’16. He went on to complete a master’s in Mycenaean Civilization at Penn. Today, in addition to his leadership at Wagman, Joe is deeply involved in nonprofit board work and civic service throughout York County, helping strengthen the region through philanthropy, education, and community development. Stop by Joe’s office hours at the Paz Center on Monday 4/28 from 2-4 PM to chat about: Running a multigenerational family business or advice in working for/preparing to lead a family business Finding purpose across multiple careers How to hone your decision-making skills and become a better leader Serving your community as a volunteer What it’s like to go back to college in your 60s Archaeology If you’re curious about business, community service, archeology, or simply building a meaningful life over time—Joe’s got stories. And he’s here to talk. Drop into the Paz Center (2nd floor) anytime from 2-4 PM on Monday, April 28th to speak with him about any of the topics above.
