Spend some time with Esther Popel Shaw, the first Black woman to graduate from Dickinson College.
Hear about Ms. Esther's experiences at Dickinson during the early 20th century and how she experienced life after graduation. Embodied by Sharia M. Benn, Founder and Director of the Sankofa African American Theater Company, you will engage with Ms. Esther through an original play written and performed by Ms. Benn. A "talk-back" session will immediately follow the performance during which audience members may ask questions and share reflections.
