This is our first annual Ethics Common Read. We will read and discuss Dr. Myisha Cherry's new book, Failures of Forgiveness: What We Get Wrong and How to do Better.
I am pleased to invite you to participate in our first annual Ethics Common Read. This fall, we will read and discuss Dr. Myisha Cherry's new book, Failures of Forgiveness: What We Get Wrong and How to Do Better. You may recall Dr. Cherry's visit to campus for a Clarke Forum talk last September to discuss her earlier book, The Case for Rage: Why Anger Is Essential to Anti-Racist Struggle. This year, the Ethics Across Campus & the Curriculum program will pay careful attention to themes related to accountability, moral injury, and moral repair. We hope you will consider reading this book before Monday, October 28, 2024. We will meet on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm in small discussion groups made up of students, faculty, and staff. There will be free copies of the book available for interested students at the beginning of the school year.
