This program is made possible through the gracious support of Sylvia J. Smith ’73, a Dickinson trustee.
Warith Taha is a visual artist from Oakland, Calif. Working primarily through the medium of painting, Warith creates work that addresses his Black queer relationship to time, space and material. Taha visits Dickinson through the Sylvia J. Smith Artist-in-Residence Program, established in 2009 to complement the mission of the Department of Art & Art History. To date, the program has brought 13 national and international artists to campus to make artwork, engage with students and contribute to the creative culture at Dickinson during six- to eight-week residencies.
