The Bread and Puppet Theater will be in residency with Dickinson's Department of Theatre & Dance Oct. 20-24. The residency will end with two performances at the Dickinson College Farm (Oct. 23 and Oct. 24).

Founded by Peter and Elka Schumann in New York’s Lower East Side in 1963, Bread and Puppet is one of the oldest nonprofit, political theatres in the United States. During its five-day residency at Dickinson, the troupe will work with students to present the company’s circus-style performance on two afternoons at the Dickinson College Farm. The College’s Arts Award will be presented to the company after the Oct. 23 performance.

The College Farm is at 553 Park Drive, Boiling Springs, Pa. Dickinson’s Department of Theatre & Dance will provide a shuttle bus to the farm prior to each performance. Buses will depart from the ATS parking lot at 3:30 p.m. on both days, and will depart the farm at 7:30 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, and at roughly 5:45 on Sunday. Bread and Puppet's famed sourdough bread will be served after the shows.
