Join us for an evening of Shakespearean monologues, soliloquies, sonnets, songs and scenes.
As Shakespeare famously observed, "all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." He went on to say that these actors play many parts, and that their acts are the “seven ages."
Mixing Shakespearean monologues, soliloquies, sonnets, songs and scenes, this festive outdoor presentation will trace Shakespeare’s seven ages, from infancy to the "second infancy" of extreme age. This staging will aim to capture the unique size, scope and power of Shakespeare's language while also honoring his works' vision of human nature. Indeed: "What a piece of work is man."
The works of William Shakespeare that are presented in this performance were compiled and edited by the Department of Theatre & Dance.
