Discussing the history of Black lives in Carlisle.
Campus and community scholars will introduce audiences to narratives of African American experience often left out of Carlisle's more well-known histories. After the panel discussion, audiences are invited to participate in a collaborative community art project designed to highlight these stories.
7 p.m.: Rubendall Recital Hall, Weiss Center for the Arts, Dickinson College
This program is cosponsored by the Cumberland County Historical Society. It is part of a series of programs offered in conjunction with the exhibitions Horace Pippin: Racism and War and Tracing Slavery: Moses Williams and Kara Walker's Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War (Annotated) on view at The Trout Gallery, Dickinson College.
Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
This is one in a series of American art exhibitions created through a multiyear, multi-institutional partnership formed by the Philadelphia Museum of Art as part of the Art Bridges Initiative.
