What elements from your Dickinson experience had the biggest impact on your time in college?

Two of the most impactful parts of my Dickinson experience have been studying abroad in New Zealand and the people I’ve met along the way. Dickinson has prepared well for postgraduation. Working as an RA and as a student conduct panelist helped me learn my true passion for working with college students in student affairs and how meaningful the work in higher ed is. Having amazing mentors in Resident Life and Housing and in Student Life has set me up well to obtain a graduate degree in higher education and to obtain a GA position to fund my program. What elements from your Dickinson experience had the biggest impact on your time in college?

During my time at Dickinson, the most impactful part of my experience was the people I met and learned from. Through my classes and everyday life, I was exposed to perspectives, cultures and ways of living that were completely new to me. Being surrounded by people from different backgrounds pushed me to think more openly and see beyond my own experiences. That is something I never could have imagined before coming to college.
