The process of applying for financial aid varies depending on whether you are a prospective or current student. Please carefully review the information on the page that is relevant to you and be aware of upcoming deadlines and specific forms that must be filed.
The 2018-2019 FAFSA will once again offer the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT), which imports the 2016 tax filing data on record with the IRS. Most individuals who have filed a 2016 tax return will be able to use the IRS DRT.
This year for your protection, the Department of Education added a safeguard to the Data Retrieval Tool. When you import your tax data from the IRS, the fields will be masked. You will not be able to see the data items that have been transferred. If you successfully use the IRS DRT, Dickinson will receive accurate filing information.
Remember, for the second year, the FAFSA will use prior-prior year income data. Families should use their 2016 income information and current household size and asset information on the 2018-2019 FAFSA. Please contact our office if you have questions or concerns.
