Dickinson defeated McDaniel College 77-63 Friday night, earning a spot in the finals of the 2014 Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Basketball Championship. The Red Devils will play Johns Hopkins University for the CC title Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the Kline Center.
Playing before an energized home crowd in the Kline Center, Dickinson got out to a fast start in the semifinal game, establishing a 45-20 lead at halftime. McDaniel outscored the Red Devils in the second half, but Dickinson held on for the win, holding McDaniel to just over 40 percent shooting, while making 50 percent of their own shots.
Sophomore guard Ted Hinnenkamp led the Red Devils in scoring with 19 points. Gerry Wixted '15 added 13 points, while Adam Honig '14 chipped in 10 points on the night.
The Kline Center will close for other use at 5 p.m. Saturday night to prepare for the 7 p.m. finals tip-off.
Tickets will be sold at the door.
Students with a valid college I.D. from participating schools can attend for free as well.
