Dickinson's new Director of Athletics Celine Cunningham and President John E. Jones III '77, P'11, recently greeted fall sports student-athletes, expressing their excitement for the upcoming season.
"I'm animated on the sidelines, and I'm also uber-competitive," Cunnigham told the gathered Red Devils. "Success means a lot of things. It definitely means winning games ... but it also means that you have a great experience."
During what's now an annual tradition, Jones emphasized the importance of organized athletics in predicting future success, highlighting the skills and values it fosters and expressing his pride in the student-athletes' commitment to representing the college.
Come cheer on the Red Devils during Friday night's football home opener under the lights, which pits the Red Devils against the Yellowjackets of Randolph-Macon College at 6 p.m. Also in action at home this weekend are the cross country teams and the women's volleyball team.
