How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?

I have taken courses in various departments here at Dickinson, including in the departments of sociology, educational studies and anthropology. From these departments, I have learned critical thinking and analyzing skills that will help me navigate the work field as a future educator. Working at The Trout Gallery has allowed me to put those skills to the test while teaching my Spanish classes. Here have I not only put them to the test but have been able to refine and sharpen them. Through my sociology courses, I have been able to gain the consciousness that has allowed me to understand how our society works today and is constantly changing. I have also been able to get the tools and knowledge to be able to speak up about the issues we still see today in our educational system that are highly impacting students of color and low-income communities. Through all my courses and internships, I feel that I am prepared to enter into the graduate and educator world.
