Scholarship Story: Amiya Marbles '26

Amiya Marbles '26

“I’m proud to be a first-generation college student, raised by a Black single parent, and I’m grateful for my scholarship, acknowledging my hard work and determination to earn a Dickinson education.” —Amiya Marbles '26

Change A Life, Change the World

Thanks to scholarship support, Marbles is exploring new knowledge and experiences that she could only dream of, growing up in her small town in Kentucky. During her first year on campus, she discovered a love for earth sciences and filmmaking—and she combines those passions by working with the Center for Sustainability Education to create an educational video on the college’s IPCC climate symposium. During spring break, she gave back through Habitat for Humanity, during a Dickinson service trip to South Carolina. She’s enjoyed meeting students and professors from all over the country and world, and she shared her experience by hosting a prospective student during the student’s visit to campus.
