Dickinson announces and celebrates Regular Decision admissions notification. Congratulations, admitted students!

Dickinson continues to demonstrate its increased selectivity, as measured by the admit rate and the strength of the academic profile of the admitted pool. More than 5,820 applications were received, making this the third-largest applicant pool in the college's history, and 44.2 percent were admitted.

Dickinson's global reach is apparent, as admitted students reflect 44 U.S. states and territories and the District of Columbia and 30 foreign countries. This admitted class represents an increase in diversity, with 17.7 percent students of color and 7.5 percent international citizens. Additionally, 7.5 percent represent legacy connections.

"We take great pride in the selection of this special class—the class of 2017—among a most competitive applicant pool," said Stephanie Balmer, vice president for enrollment, marketing and communications and dean of admissions. "Their intellectual, social and global interests suggest a strong fit with Dickinson. Our community looks forward to welcoming our admitted students and their families to campus in the weeks ahead and to demonstrating why we believe Dickinson should be their top choice. For those unable to visit, we look forward to connecting in the various cities in the U.S. and abroad at gatherings and receptions celebrating admission to Dickinson. Demand is strong and momentum is high. We celebrate the promise that this class reflects."
Accepted students and their families will connect with the college at a number of on- and off-campus events that offer opportunities to meet classmates, network with alumni and engage with faculty and administrators. On-campus opportunities include the Admitted Student Preview Day on April 13 and Made-to-Order Days on April 3, 10 and 17. [Off-campus events] range from big-city venues to private residences in locations including:
