Dickinson has given me a gateway to accessing the robust opportunities the world has to offer. It's given me the space to grow as a person and student, which has allowed me to always challenge my current situation. I feel that Dickinson has adequately prepared me to enter this next phase of my life.
What are you most anticipating about your career or postgraduate pursuits?
I'm most anticipating the challenges that I will face and am looking forward to immersing myself in a new space. I hope to continue to use Dickinson as a resource to help me propel throughout my work, both as a scholar and a teacher.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has taught me to take initiative and work to create the experience I want for myself. I am prepared to honor myself and others in the outside world, appreciating and valuing the differences in each individual. Dickinson has heightened my critical thinking skills, and in addition, has showed me the importance of setting myself outside of my comfort zone.
What are you most anticipating about your career or postgraduate pursuits?
I am excited to live in a new city on my own as an adult. I am anticipating that I will be prepared to work in a team environment and be a positive contributor for the organization I am in.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
Internship Experience
I interned for Peoples Light Theatre, a theatre company outside of Philadelphia, for two summers. I held the role of the community engagement and investment intern.

Job Responsibilities
I will be providing legal services to veterans looking to file disability benefit claim appeals. More specifically, I will be conducting research, drafting legal correspondences, conducting file reviews and maintaining contact with clients while they navigate the appeals process.
How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has helped me learn how to think critically and communicate well. I have learned so much through the Department of American Studies, and I am so thankful for how they have helped prepare me for life after Dickinson.
Internship Experience
I completed three internships during my time at Dickinson College. First, I worked at the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault, completing research on the commercialized sexual exploitation of children. The following year, I had an internship at Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund, where I spent my summer deep canvassing and speaking with voters about reproductive justice. Finally, as a senior, I had an internship at United Way of Pennsylvania, doing public policy work and speaking with legislators on behalf of United Way to obtain our policy goals.

Dickinson taught me how to balance work and social life, how to work on a tight deadline and how to organize groups and lead coalitions.
What are you most anticipating about your career or postgraduate pursuits?
Building connections, enriching my life experience and using my college education to help further the causes I believe in.

Working for the Office of LGBTQ Services and studying abroad in England
