Global Adventure Trip Offers Dickinsonians Rare Opportunity to Explore Galapagos Islands

Galapagos Trip

Dickinson invites alumni, parents and friends to join professors Marcus Key and Ben Edwards on the college's next Global Adventure trip, Galapagos: Darwin’s Enchanted Isles. Scheduled for Jan. 10-19, 2020, the trip offers members of the Dickinson community the rare opportunity to tour with expert guides the Galapagos Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage site known as a “living laboratory of evolution.” There are currently 14 cabins available, and the trip includes an optional post-trip Machu Picchu and Cusco extension.

Guests will stay aboard a spacious 16-cabin motor yacht staffed by an experienced captain and crew. The onboard naturalist team is rated at the highest level (Level 3) by Galapagos National Park.

Untouched until the modern era, the Galapagos is home to animals that have never learned to fear humans. In addition to taking in the lunar-like landscapes, mist-covered volcanic peaks, green and red sand beaches and forests of prickly pear and cactus that grow taller than people, guests will have the opportunity to observe sea lions, crimson-throated frigate birds, dolphins and flamingos up close on hiking, kayaking and snorkeling excursions—all under the guidance of two expert Dickinson faculty members.

Dickinsonians interested in the trip can learn more online, call 800-856-8951 or email dickinson@studytours.org to reserve a spot.
