Russian Major Receives Fulbright Award

Patrick Harchik was awarded the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award.

Purpose of Award

The Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award promotes mutual cultural understanding between representatives of the United States and the host country. Harchik will be teaching English in Bulgaria. In addition, he will also serve as a cultural ambassador in Bulgaria. This May, he will be commissioned as a second lieutenant active duty Army officer and a distinguished military graduate.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

At Dickinson, I was exposed to many excellent educational, cultural, and professional experiences that helped shape my future. I learned how to critically think about global problems and apply them to real-life scenarios.

What are you most anticipating about your future?

I am looking forward to the incredible experience of learning about a new culture, history and language in Bulgaria. I am also looking forward to serving as a U.S. Army Officer in the infantry.
