Associate Professor of Music Blanka Bednarz, violin, joins guest artists John Novaceck (pianist to acclaimed violinist Joshua Bell and celebrity cellist Yo-Yo Ma), violinist Airi Yoshioka of the music faculty of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, violist Mary Hammann of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Cheung Chau, cellist and orchestra director at Utah Valley University, for a performance on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 4 p.m. in Rubendall Recital Hall, Weiss Center for the Arts.

Their program includes Russian composer Dimitri Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet, Op. 57; the Butterfly Lovers concerto by Chinese composers He Zhanhao and Chen Gang, in an arrangement for string quartet by Dawei Kumaki, as an early tribute to the Chinese New Year; and the Piano Quintet by Hungarian composer ErnÅ‘ Dohnányi, Op. 1.
