Ethnomusicologist Paul Berliner will discuss his most recent research during “The Heart That Remembers: Stories of Zimbabwean Mbira Music and Musicians” on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. in Dickinson’s Rubendall Recital Hall, Weiss Center for the Arts.
A professor emeritus of arts and sciences at Duke University, Berliner is the author of Thinking Jazz: The Infinite Art of Improvisation and Soul of Mbira: Music and Traditions of the Shona People of Zimbabwe. The presentation is sponsored by the Truman and Beth Bullard Music and Culture Series.
