The Red Devil men's and women's squash teams held their first home matches Saturday night, and 400 fans jammed the Kline Center’s new squash court bleachers to watch them take on the Haverford College Fords. The excitement in the air couldn’t quite translate into success, unfortunately, as both women and men fell short of team victory.
The women turned in some solid individual performances in their 5-4 loss, with Betsy Vuchinich ’16, Freddie Bancroft ’18, Meghan Shippe ’18 and Ashley Doyle ’18 taking their flights. The men were outmatched by the Fords, falling 9-0.
Sunday, Nov. 23, marks the next time the squash teams take the court for Centennial Conference play, hitting the road for a matchup with Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.
