Mentoring Program

New faculty are invited to join a group of 4-6 peers and two senior mentors from outside their departments. These mentors facilitate monthly conversations on a variety of topics (to be determined after receiving your input). Among the possibilities are how to:

  • Navigate life at the college by learning about departmental and institutional expectations
  • Apply multiple strategies for effective teaching 
  • Manage work-life balance 
  • Build community and relationships that sustain them 
  • Develop a plan for scholarship and know how to apply for external and internal grant funding to support their research plans
  • Learn to create an effective professional activities statement for their review cycles 
  • Deal with academic integrity violations 

Meetings will take place once per month and participants will share concerns and ideas with each other and get feedback and guidance from mentors who are tenured faculty.
