Alumni in SINE

Alumni in SINE

Many Dickinson alumni and parents are social innovators and entrepreneurs, and a few examples are spotlighted here. Zach Leverenz '01 founded EveryoneOn to spread the benefits of Internet connectivity to all populations. EveryoneOn has created a unique network of Internet service providers, device refurbishers and public libraries to provide connections, equipment and training. David Dean '13 created Unity Hoops to change the lives of Crow Native American youth in Montana. Unity Hoops builds on the love that these youth have for basketball to develop educational and community-building opportunities. Dee and Richard Lawrence, along with their son, Blake Lawrence '13, have innovated cooking stoves for families in Honduras. These new stoves require less fuel than traditional stoves, which saves families money, and emit far less soot, which significantly improves indoor air quality in homes.

The SINE certificate charts a course for our students to engage in social innovation and entrepreneurship.
