In November 2023, the Center for the Futures of Native Peoples partnered with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to offer programming for the food bank's employees in celebration of Native American Heritage Month. John Truden began the session with a short informational lecture on Indigenous communities in the food bank's service area, followed by a wide-ranging question and answer session about Indigenous histories and cultures in the United States with John Truden and Darren Lone Fight.
