The Revolutionary Challenge - Criteria and Timeline

  • Importance and potential positive impact of the Revolutionary Challenge idea as well as its capacity to generate institutional and public excitement.
  • Alignment with Dickinson’s strategic priorities as identified in our Strategic Framework.
  • Quality of the full Revolutionary Challenge proposal and plan for development, including identifying partners and the opportunity for interdisciplinary work.
  • Qualifications and roles of the project team.
  • Potential for partnerships with stakeholders beyond our campus.
  • Realistic budget and justification for the planning grant (funding cannot be used for labor).

Timeline


April 2019

  • Announcement and launch of the Revolutionary Challenge
  • Formation of the President’s Panel on Innovation, which will select finalists

September 2019

October 2019

  • Oct. 4: Initial proposal deadline
  • Oct. 7: Proposals posted to website for review, rating  and commentary by the full Dickinson community
  • Oct. 25: Review of proposals and comments by the President’s Panel on Innovation; selection of finalists

Fall 2020

  • Presentation of the finalists' full proposals to the President’s Panel on Innovation and trustees.
