Convocation: New students sign-in to the college.
The opening tradition of Convocation celebrates the start of the academic year for all members of the Dickinson community. Follow in the footsteps of Dickinson students who have signed in to the college since the early 19th century, marking the beginning of their official membership in the Dickinson community. The procession begins at 4 p.m.
First-year students sit by residence. Rising seniors are to meet at 3:45 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of the Library, and faculty and administrators are to line up on Britton Plaza. Academic regalia for faculty and staff can be obtained at the Bookstore from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Aug. 26-30; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Aug. 31; or 10 a.m. - 3:45 p.m., Sept. 1. (Severe weather location is ATS).
