January 24, 2019

Join us in celebrating the work of Prof. Bruno’s First Year Seminar, “Before Carlisle: Illuminating the native American Histories of our Community”.

Exhibit_Reception

Walking through the borough of Carlisle, visitors are met with numerous markers, plaques, and buildings that commemorate and educate the public about the people and events that shaped the community’s Euro-American history. The history of the Native American communities who lived in this area for over 15,000 years, however, is practically non-existent. Students in this course conducted research into an aspect of Native American life during one of five periods identified by archaeologists and will briefly present their findings during the reception. Light refreshments will be served.
