Julia Olson, executive director of Our Children’s Trust, will deliver the Rose-Walters lecture in ATS on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at 7 p.m. The event will be livestreamed.

Julia Olson, Executive Director of Our Children’s Trust, will give a public lecture in ATS on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 7 p.m. that will draw from Our Children’s Trust’s experience leading a global climate recovery campaign, elevating the voice of youth—those with most at stake in the climate crisis—to favorably impact their futures through advocacy, public education and civic engagement. Our Children’s Trust has gained national attention for supporting 21 young people (one of which is a Dickinson student) who have brought a landmark federal lawsuit against the president and multiple federal agencies. They argue the federal government’s affirmative actions, supporting fossil fuel development and consumption violate the plaintiffs’ constitutional and public trust rights. Come hear about the journey Julia, Our Children's Trust, and these young people have been on as they take on the president in multiple levels of simultaneous trials.

Mission: Our Children's Trust elevates the voice of youth to secure the legal right to a stable climate and healthy atmosphere for the benefit of all present and future generations. Through our programs, youth participate in advocacy, public education and civic engagement to ensure the viability of all natural systems in accordance with science.
