Final Class Presentation: Social Movements, Social Media and Global Change

Featuring presentations by each student team and questions by a panel of judges.

Each team is allocated 25 minutes in total, made up of 15 minutes of presentation of campaign activities and impacts achieved; and 10 minutes to answer your questions.

The judges include: Dr. Say Burgin (Dickinson College); Zamiyat Abubakar (University of Oxford); Col. Elizabeth Casely (U.S. Army War College); LTC Nicholas Montalto (U.S. Army War College); LTC Mitchell J Wisniewski (U.S. Army War College).

Groups of three teams will present the following three exciting campaigns:

  1. Real People Real Fear seeks to openly acknowledge and mitigate the limiting fear of sexual harassment that women feel.
  2. A House United, inspired by Abraham Lincoln’s ‘House Divided’ speech seeks to rebuild respect and create civil discourse around political issues in the U.S.
  3. Education for Refugee Sisters, inspired by the Dickinson College Bridge program, campaigns for greater access to education for all women displaced by violence.
