Dickinson in Chicago at SNL: The Experience

November 3, 2018

Immerse yourself in television history.

SNL

You’ve watched Saturday Night Live for years. Now you can experience 40 years of the show in a way you never imagined. Follow the weeklong path to Saturday night through an interactive exhibition that starts with the Monday host meeting and continues through writing day, read-through/production/design, set and costume build, rehearsals and the live performance. Become immersed in the fast-paced creative processes and see how ideas become reality in just days. Interact with sets, original props and costumes. Take selfies on the Jeopardy set, rock out on the Wayne’s World couch and deliver the news from behind the Weekend Update desk. Begun in New York City, this traveling exhibition finds a natural second stop in Chicago. With so many SNL cast members and writers hailing from our city (and Second City), producers sought to honor the show’s Chicago ties. This exhibit is only in Chicago for a limited time. A limited number of tickets are available. Please register by Thursday,  Oct. 11.
