Join us for a concert by the Dickinson College Faculty Brass Trio (Jeffrey Wohlbach, trumpet; Grace Salyards, horn; and Gregory Strohman, trombone).

Once limited by the inability to play chromatic scales, brass players are increasingly asked to perform in solo and chamber ensemble roles similar to those of their woodwind, string and keyboard playing colleagues. As a result, over the past 150 years, the evolving and expanding repertoire of brass chamber music has witnessed remarkable growth in both its compositional depth and performance virtuosity. This program features many challenging contemporary works that showcase different aspects of the unique sounds and colors offered by a trio of brass instruments.
This program should be of special interest not just to brass players but also to composers studying orchestration and counterpoint, as well as to theory and composition students exploring the works and styles of modern and contemporary composers. The concert features the works of composers from the United States, Hungary, Brazil and Poland.
