"I Work for Fun, and I Get Fun Out of My Work”: The Arts in Lois Hobart’s Girls’ Career Fiction, 1955 – 1961.
Dr. Anderson will present on two 1950s girls’ art-career novels, focusing on how these novels portray girls actively training in and actively practicing in their field within communities of creatively and intellectually stimulating friends, colleagues, and love interests.
