Pre-Health Program - The History of Medical Treatments and Techniques

November 6, 2024

What kind of testing happens to develop a medical treatment?

Restrictions on human medical experimentation have largely been developed over the past 100 years. Many treatments and techniques used today emerged as a result of experimentation, some that we would consider ethical by today's standards but most that we would judge as unethical. How did modern regulations develop? How does that shape health care today? Join us on Wednesday, September 6 at 6 p.m. when Kendall Thompson, Information Literacy Librarian, shares insights learned during her Ph.D. studies in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology at UCLA to help you as you prepare to enter your medical, dental, or other professional studies. Please sign up in Handshake at the Events tab to attend. Attending this event will count towards your grad cord.
