Dickinson College students in the Africana Studies department are hosting a Soul Cafe on Friday, November 10 at the Allison Hall Community Room, 99 Mooreland Ave, Carlisle.
The idea is a talent show event primarily by and for Carlisle and Dickinson College persons of color and create opportunities to perform, enjoy local talent, network and collaborate. The evening revival of events Black students organized in 1963-2023. To highlight this event the students invited Marquis Lupton, of the NPR podcast "The Melanin Report" to Emcee the evening.
We would like to invite you and your family to this event. We are seeking local talent to perform a song, rap, dance, poetry/spoken word, Praise Teams, a reading, a story, comedy. If you, or anyone you know, would like to partake in a performance piece, we are asking performers to sign-up by Wednesday, November 8 at:
