The Art of the Multilingual Business Deal - Zoom Watch Party

December 2, 2022

Presented by Christophe Million-Rousseau.

Christophe Million-Rousseau will compare the linguistic challenges and opportunities in English-speaking international companies operating globally from the perspective of (1) non-native speakers of English within a firm led by native speakers and (2) native speakers of English, both vis a vis global customers and teamwork. It will address the following questions: How do linguistic and cultural dynamics inform a team's appeal to a customer and prospect pool? What are the hurdles to effective communication and negotiation? How do conscious and unconscious team biases operate? What is the impact of language on diversity policies?

Christophe holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Washington in Seattle and is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris. He has held finance positions in France, the UK, and Brazil and is currently SVP at Jackson Square Aviation, one of the top 10 global commercial aircraft lessors based in San Francisco and owned by Mitsubishi HC Capital. Christophe's role includes operating lease origination, used aircraft remarketing in Europe financial institutions and Export Credit Agencies. He has delivered asset-based courses at international business schools; he mentors young adults on their curricular and early career choices, and he advises start-ups in their early development.
