This NEW pilot program has been specially adapted for the mental wellbeing of college students and higher education institutions, and includes the traditional materials and information from the original Mental Health First Aid training offered up until this time to the general public. Dickinson has offered the traditional training program over the past several years, and was selected for the FREE higher education pilot program for this reason. Mental Health First Aid is a 8 hour training course designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as CPR training helps a layperson assist an individual following a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis. Attendees who complete the 8-hour program become certified Mental Health First Aiders. Enroll and sign-up for this training session in Totara. Please remember to bring your own lunch!
