Local Roots, Sustainable Visions: Workshop with the Carlisle Climate Action Commission

April 5, 2022

Facilitated by Mitch Shiles and Sara Markowitz.

Ready to go in-depth on climate action right here at home?

In this workshop, we will be discussing strategies for driving climate action, working with local governments, getting started with community engagement, communicating climate science, establishing community rapport, and the related pitfalls of addressing climate change on a community level. This workshop will be facilitated by Mitch Shiles and Sara Markowitz, current and former team leaders, respectively, of the Community Engagement Team on Carlisle's Climate Action Commission. Our facilitators are also members of the Dickinson community: Mitch is a professor of Art & Art History and Sara is the Program Coordinator for the Clarke Forum.

Local Roots, Sustainable Visions is a workshop series featuring local change-makers who bring together sustainability and civic engagement in their community-rooted work. This series is being co-programmed by CSE and CCLA's Civic Skills Academy. Following this session, we have one more workshop on Wed, 4/13-- (Re)Discovering Your Role in Belonging: A Social Change Workshop.

RSVPs through EngageD are highly encouraged!
