Carrie Moyer's paintings, drawings and prints have been exhibited widely in the U.S. and Europe; recent museum shows include the 2017 Whitney Biennial and a traveling survey, Carrie Moyer: Pirate Jenny. A recipient of awards from the Guggenheim and Joan Mitchell foundations, Moyer cofounded the lesbian public-art project Dyke Action Machine!. Her writing has appeared in Art in America, Brooklyn Rail, Artforum and Modern Painters. She is a professor and director of Hunter College's MFA program. This lecture is sponsored by the Department of Art & Art History.
