Dickinson Thrives (Drum Circle)

November 2, 2021

Dickinson Thrives is an opportunity for all Dickinson students to come together to connect with each other, practice new skills, and build their sense of identity.

All students are welcome to join us to navigate self-care, meaning making, identity formation, and development of purpose. We will focus on a particular theme each month, with three reoccurring sessions exploring the contours of that theme. For each theme, participants can expect one session to focus on artistic means of expression, one session on movement, and another session on discussion and conversation. We will invite specific students, staff, and faculty members each week to share their expertise and experiences with participants.

The theme for November is "Rest." Join us this week for a drum circle focused on taking a break, engaging with flow, and centering yourself with Todd Drazien (Wellness Center). Drum Circles have long been associated with lowering stress, strengthening the immune system, and fostering a sense of connection with others.
