Learn to use three resources to easily connect with Dickinson alumni who are eager to help you launch your career.
We all know the old adage: "It's not what you know, it's who you know." Networking can be so essential to getting your foot in the door at a potential employer's, but it can seem daunting to the inexperienced student. These days, with a lot of networking happening online rather than in-person, sometimes it feels like it can be an even trickier process than usual.
Fortunately, the Center for Advising, Internships, and Lifelong Career Development are here to help you with that process. In-person networking is still an important skill, but in the digital age, online networking has become an easy way to connect with new people and potential employers. This hour-long seminar will help introduce you to three key resources for online networking (LinkedIn, AlumniFire, and the Alumni Directory), as well as show you the basics of how to navigate them.
By the end of this seminar, you will be able to use these three resources to easily connect with Dickinson alumni who are eager to help you launch your career, as well as to seek out other potential employers and job opportunities. Happy hunting!
