The Orbit of the Soul: Jonathan Hays, baritone and Craig Ketter, piano

February 22, 2020

Baritone Jonathan Hays and pianist Craig Ketter return to the Dickinson stage to perform Robert Pound’s critically-acclaimed work "The Orbit of the Soul."

Commissioned in 2000 by the Clarke Forum to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Oscar Wilde’s death, the work will be performed as a staged monodrama directed by Rick Hamilton. Colin Clarke of Fanfare Magazine wrote of the recording: “The present performance with baritone seems to hold a particular pathos. Perhaps that is due to Jonathan Hays’s superb interpretation: Technical aspects such as diction and pitching are so superbly managed that one’s attention is fully focused on Pound’s narrative. This is a positively revelatory release” (Mar/Apr 2019). The recording is available for purchase on Amazon and iTunes.
