Engelbert Humperdinck’s fairy-tale opera “Hansel and Gretel."
The Dickinson College Department of Music is excited to present Engelbert Humperdinck’s fairy-tale opera “Hansel and Gretel,” the first opera production to be staged and performed at Dickinson since the 1980s. Dickinson’s production of “Hansel and Gretel” is a creative take on Humperdinck’s opera, tailored for Dickinson voice students in the Lyric Performance Practicum. Humperdinck’s music contains charming German folk songs for children while being richly expressive – almost Wagnerian.
